The
Homes helter Mons. Enrique
Tomas Lozano, was founded by this notorious priest on September 2,
1945, in collaboration with the Institute of Sisters Mercedarias del
Santisimo Sacramento, whom since the beginning, supported him in this
masterpiece that was inspired by the Holy Spirit, in favor of the
homeless childhood of Nuevo Laredo, Mexico.
At the beginning, the Homes helter was located at Juarez Ave. and Madero
St. aside of the Colegio America, and received children from 3 to 8
years of age. As the time
passed by they accepted girls only.
In 1947 they were relocated at their actual site: Arteaga St. No. 1756.
The Homes helter Mons. Enrique Tomas Lozano, still fulfills the
objective of his founder. To be a space in which orphan and abandoned
girls, whose mothers by diversified situations, cant take care of
them.
The Sisters Mercedarias del Santisimo Sacramento, whom are still in
charge, with profound mercy and loving surrender; form to each one of
the girls, seeing in each one of them to a Jesus needed of love,
protection, and care.
The Homes helter, since its existence to the present time, its
supported with the contributions of generous benefactors that share with
the girls their material goods and their time. It also accounts with the
help of people that with their professional knowledge support the
formation of the children of the Homes helter Mons. Enrique Tomas
Lozano.
